Default 2wd to 4wd conversion

I'm new to this forum but not my fj, ive had my 07 2wd for about a year now and love it. ive had some special bonding moments im not getting into in it and it has serious sentimental value, i dont plan on ever selling it. that being said, i want to convert it to 4wd. i know it would be cheaper to sell it and buy another 4wd but thats not an option. ive been searching for a list of parts needed to convert and havent been able to get a list. id like to know EVERYTHING i need, not just a transfer case, front differential, and axles, i know all this but i need the details from a good mechanic who knows the ins and out of the fj so i can buy these parts and get this done.

Here is my $.02, for what it's worth... Converting your 2wd FJ to a 4wd FJ will be very expensive. Very. If you're willing to go through all of that trouble, I would be looking at going to a solid axle conversion. Doing a solid axle conversion cost more, but the end result is a much more effective off road machine. If you have the time, and patience, instead of saving up for one year and doing it stock, save for two and make it bad ass.
