Snow all around!

So any of you guys getting effected by all this snow we're getting? Sadly I live in Florida. Only snow I get to see is on the news. How are your FJ's holding up?

JackRabbit_Slim 02-03-2011 06:44 AM

My FJ loves the snow... Her first wheeling adventure was up some old logging road called Wildcat Gulch in over 2 feet of fresh powder... She devoured it in 4L with A-Trac... My Avatar is from that trip.

Capt Sensible 02-03-2011 09:30 AM

How crappy was your gas mileage? 4L already drinks it, I imagine trudging through 2 feet of powder wasn't helping.

We got hit over a 2 day period pretty hard, I live in MA. I had a blast in my truck but now the cleanup starts. Another 4-8" Saturday they are saying. We are well on our way this year to breaking record snowfall totals. It's been a crazy winter in the N E

Capt Sensible 02-03-2011 11:36 AM

Must be global warming. :shakehead:

As for mileage I never really pay any attention to it while I'm wheeling... I doubt it was anything impressive... I seem to say pretty close to 17-22 MPG depending on my style. I'd like to get a set of chains and see how far I can go in the snow... That logging road meanders into the wilderness for about 40 miles and then just dead ends...

I had some fun in the snow here in Atl a few weeks ago. Wish we would get some more. My commute was awesome with no one on the roads.

Capt Sensible 02-03-2011 07:25 PM

I wish we could get some snow. shit.

JackRabbit_Slim 02-04-2011 12:35 AM

Drive on out west... or hell head up north...

Capt Sensible 02-04-2011 04:10 AM

It isn't that easy. Some of us don't own bicycle shops and have lazy winters.

JackRabbit_Slim 02-04-2011 06:20 AM

Haha... good point... Well perhaps you should start yourself a bike shop and come wheeling! The bike industry is exploding!

Capt Sensible 02-04-2011 06:26 AM

my colon is exploding. I know nothing of bikes. I know around here there are a few, idunno, maybe 3 or 4 bike shops, and they look to be tiny, not very impressive (from the outside) places. I've never been inside any of them. We have a few triathlons over the course of the year, I wonder if they sell any bikes then. I know those guys/girls ride some high dollar stuff.

JackRabbit_Slim 02-04-2011 06:29 AM

you'd be surprised... there are pretty big groups of riders in most towns and cities that are die hard mountain or road bikers... you'll find them in spinning classes over the winter or if you have nice weather they'll be out pounding the pavement or the dirt respectively. (Just like you pound man butt)
