i just bought an FJ and I have so many problems.. help

hello all.. i have my FJ for only 4 days and when i press on the brake it stops then it accelerates...also my brake makes a noise in the interior of the car when pressed... another thing is i know you arenot supposed to drive it in 4 d so obviously D is used.. in D the car hesitates in first gear and when i stop and then press the accerator, the transmission jumps and kicks the car back... has anyone had any of these problems? i love the car but now i dont want it and its a shame cause ive had it not long at all. its a 2008 with 25,000 miles.. any info would help. thanks

Buy it from a dealer? Or private sale? Mine is manual transmission, so I'm not familiar with those types of issues.

take it back quick! none of that is supposed to be happening. what kind of warranty do you have?

FJTom 06-27-2011 11:47 PM

At 25000 you should still be under factory warranty at the least. Definitely take it back and tell them what is going on

i thought it was a 3 year/30,000 powertrain... if the fj was originally bought in January of 2008, it's over 3 years old now.

Good point, if that's true. I really have no idea what it is, I was just thinking 30K at the least. But didn't think about the three year thing. So guess it depends in what month it was originally sold

Either way....don't waste any time....get back to that dealer immediately and say WTF ? ! ? ! ? ! :shakehead:

Capt Sensible 06-28-2011 03:12 AM

Well said Dave. WTF indeed.

FJTom 06-28-2011 02:37 PM

True true. Any reputable dealer should at least have a 30 day warranty no matter what. Hope it wasn't an as-is sale
