new posts?

Every time I come by the site, the little clipboard icon on the far left that changes depending on the thread, it shows "new post" on most of the threads, even though there are no new posts. I don't know if this something I'm messing up on my end, or if it's a glitch on yours.

Its a setting in the backend that will keep them unread until you read them. I changed it back to were you do have to read them to show they are unread. We will change it back when we get busier as it makes it alot easier to view all the new threads that were made that you missed.

Sorry to be more precise. It can be a thread that I have read, and in fact have the last post in, and it will tell me there is some new activity and to check it out.

Also to be more specific, I can read through and entire thread. Exit the net. Get back on 5 minutes lator, and it will tell me there are new posts, even though there has been no change.

It's a setting I have fooled around with. There are 3 options. The cookie based option times out after 10 minutes if you haven't read a thread it will no longer show as new, so you miss a lot of new threads.

The way I had it, the thread will show as new until you physically read the new posts while logged in. Make sure you are actually reading the new posts which can be done by clicking the little down arrow next to the new post icon. view the new posts, press New Posts again and keep reading.
